The LG Optimus 2X sells out in a day

Following the launch of the LG Optimus 2X on Saturday 2 April, a number of retailers have reported they sold out within just 24 hours. The LG Optimus 2X is already available at Phones 4u, and will be available at Carphone Warehouse this week.

Mobile distributor Data Select sold out in just one day. Chief Commercial Officer, Roy Taylor said, "The LG Optimus 2X has been one of our most successful product launches of the year. We sold out in one day and are waiting more stock to satisfy customer demand."

Scott Hooton, trading director for Phones 4u, mobile retailer for the youth market said: “We launched a number of new Android devices at Phones 4u last weekend, including the new LG Optimus 2X. As a result of being able to offer such varied and extensive range of the latest handsets to our customers, it was an extremely successful trading period for Phones 4u, and one we hope to repeat again soon!"

The LG Optimus 2X is the world’s first smartphone with a dual-core processor and was developed in partnership with graphics processor powerhouse, NVIDIA. The dual-core Tegra 2 system found in the LG Optimus 2X boasts low power consumption and high performance.

The Android smartphone makes for faster, smoother web browsing and multitasks with virtually no screen lag. With 1080p HD video playback and recording the LG Optimus 2X is capable of expanding content on external displays to Full HD quality, offering a console-like gaming experience.

The LG Optimus 2x is available free from just £25 (per month) or for £399.95 (pay as you go) at Phones4u. At Carphone Warehouse, the smartphone is available from £399.95 (pay as you go) or £30 (per month).
