Thus win South Somerset District Council

Thus has announced that it has agreed a contract with South Somerset District Council to supply both its fixed line and mobile voice services. Thus' network solution will carry voice traffic over its Calls and Lines service for more than 50 locations across the council's area, and also provide mobile services to some 300 employees. In doing so, the council will enjoy all the benefits and convenience of moving to a single supplier environment for their telecoms needs.

South Somerset is a largely rural area in the south west of England boasting a wealth of scenery, heritage and a district council committed to improving both the economic vitality of the area and the health and well-being of its residents. South Somerset District Council aims to deliver well managed, cost-effective services which formed one of the primary reasons for choosing Thus as the single supplier of their telecoms infrastructure.

The company will provide high quality fixed line and mobile telephony services delivering on the council's aim of service reliability. As part of the agreement, Thus will provide pro-active account management; offering advice on all aspects of the voice and mobile services, to include portal based reporting and e-Billing solutions. The voice and mobile products being delivered are part of Thus' standard portfolio but delivered to meet South Somerset District Council's needs in a fully supported service package.
