TmaxSoft On ISV Recruitment Drive

In a move designed to harness its rapid growth in the middleware and DBMS market here in the UK TmaxSoft has launched a new drive to sign up Independent Software Vendors as strategic technology partners.

The campaign, being run in conjunction with its channel partners, aims to sign up companies in the burgeoning software development sector in the UK as well as existing international software providers with a presence in the UK market. The campaign aims to highlight the opportunities ISVs have enabling them to move away from expensive and complicated licensing agreements that are traditionally associated with the Silicon giants, especially Oracle.

Carl Davies, CEO of TmaxSoft UK, stated: “Databases act as the backbone for ISV software applications that run on operating systems. Up until now, the traditional legacy software companies have been the bloodline for ISVs, which has been great for the big players but crippled ISV profits,”

“There is a general perception that only databases such as Oracle can cope with the amount of data ISVs need to build their applications. To put it into perspective, if we think about how many programs run on a Windows or Mac operating system, it gives us a good idea of the sheer number of applications that ISVs run. They depend on databases that are fast and reliable as the more working applications they have, the more value they are to their end-user.

“However, there is a rather large fly in the ointment. In order to run applications that integrate with Oracle’s databases, ISVs need to buy licenses. As with all types of Oracle licenses, these are generally complicated and expensive and significantly reduce profit margins. While ISVs are increasing their number of applications to boost profits, the licensing cost that this requires is dragging the margins down.”

With advanced enterprise software providers entering the UK market from new technology hotspots such as Asia, they are able to offer viable alternatives to the traditional Silicon Valley giants, but without the headache of complicated licensing structures. ISVs can significantly increase profit margins while still maintaining high technical standards for their applications.

First developed in 2003, Tibero was designed for large-scale enterprise environments. Through efficient resource utilisation, Tibero ensures optimal performance even when processing large data loads. Tibero active-active clustering technology can be highly scaled out to support increasing workloads and user numbers. By applying shared disk based clustering technology, it provides seamless and reliable services with various tools that enhance the productivity for new solutions development and system operations.

Carl Davies concluded: “The enterprise database market is starting to look like an industry on the brink of disruption. You’ve got all the key ingredients – dominant incumbents who have become complacent, customers who are locked into expensive and time-consuming solutions, and a dynamic technological landscape which is altering the customer’s priorities and the product’s technical possibilities.”
