Tony Dixon re-elected to the board of OTELO

daisy Director Tony Dixon has been re-elected to serve a second term on the Member Board of Otelo, the Office of the Telecommunications Ombudsman.

Commercial director Tony, initially appointed to the board last year, represents daisy and joins members representing BT, O2 and Vodafone, as well as two independent members.

Tony has been with daisy since its formation in 2001, as operations director and then latterly as commercial director. His re-election to the Otelo board is recognition by the telecoms industry of his vast experience and qualifications, as well as daisy’s emergence as a major industry leader within the communications market.

Speaking of the achievement, Tony said: “Personally, I feel my re-election is a feather in the cap for daisy. I now represent ‘Category A’ membership for the organisation, that is, companies with annual revenues in excess of £20m.

“There are several hundred members of Otelo but only 25 with revenues above that threshold. Those that voted me on to the board represent a high level of power and profile in the industry and that to me shows the high regard in which daisy is held.”

The key role of the Member Board is to ensure that the ombudsman service is appropriately funded, to approve each annual budget and annual business plan, determine the scale of case fees and subscriptions to be applied against members of the service, and to ensure that the service adheres to the purpose and scope of Otelo.

In addition to his role at Otelo, Tony is also a member of the finance board and audit committee of the Ombudsman Service Limited which covers telecoms, energy and chartered surveyors dispute resolution schemes.
