Toshiba Continues To Defy Downward Market Trend

The latest quarterly reporting figures from analyst firm MZA show Toshiba is continuing to defy the downward market trend, with a further increase in sales of its Strata CIX platform.

At the start of 2008 Toshiba refocused its activity on the 2-50 extension market, as the product range fully delivers on the requirements of this core market. The MZA figures demonstrate this move has been incredibly successful; Toshiba has seen an increase in system sales of 41% for Q4 year-on-year, and 25% for the whole of 2008 over 2007 in its core 2-50 extension market.

Toshiba continues to grow market share and increase system sales, despite downward trend.

Toshiba shows greatest growth in system sales over all competitors in its core 2-50 extension market for Q4 2008 over Q4 2007.

Toshiba moves up to 4th in the non-BT 2-10 sector market and 6th in the non-BT 11-30 sector market for system sales.

Toshiba has also increased market share by 4% in the non-BT 2-10, and 2% in the non-BT 11-30 extension spaces when compared to Q4 2007 to show a market share of 6% in both areas. Duncan Clark, Analyst at MZA Ltd remarked, “Toshiba’s latest results show that the decision to increase their focus on the smaller size segments has derived strong system sales in what is currently a very difficult market environment.”

Critical to the success of Toshiba’s increase in system sales is its Strata CIX40 which delivers maximum flexibility, functionality and reliability to customers in the 2-50 extension market at a highly cost-effective price.

“The Strata CIX40 is a cost-effective solution which can be entirely configured to match the customer’s requirements,” said Tim Webb, General Manager at Toshiba’s Business Communications Division (BCD). “Whether it’s IP, digital or a hybrid of the two, or requires functionality such as SIP trunking, the Strata CIX40 can deliver it. We are thrilled Toshiba is continuing to show strong growth, and considering the MZA figures show a decline of just over 30% for the non-BT 2-50 extension market in terms of systems sold, this makes an even greater result.”
