Trapeze Networks Introduces NonStop Wireless

In what they describe as the most significant breakthrough in wireless LAN technology in recent years for large sized installations, Trapeze Networks has announced new hardware and software capabilities that enable NonStop Wireless.

The newly introduced products include: the Mobility System Software MSS Version 7.0 with advanced Virtual Controller Cluster capabilities; the MP-432 WFA certified 802.11n high-feature access point; the MX-2800 wireless controller with industry leading 12,000 active client capacity; RingMaster Version 7.0 Wireless Management Tool Suite with 802.11n planning and deployment; and RM-200, the industry’s most cost-effective and scalable wireless management appliance capable of managing 5000 access points and 1000 wireless controllers in a single turnkey appliance.

Mark Smith, UK & Ireland Country Manager, Trapeze Networks said: “NonStop WirelessT, with its unique features such as hitless failover and in-service upgrades, means that enhanced 24x7 wireless networks which will run fast, work hard and never quit are now a reality. Trapeze Networks already has the largest NHS wireless network in the UK with a 2,000 point infrastructure running mission critical services campus-wide.”

The company says that wireless LANs have been around for almost a decade but until now they couldn’t easily and inexpensively meet enterprise demands for reliability, performance, scalability and management. NonStop Wireless is the culmination of an intensive multi-year development effort that brings painless, fully automated dynamic redundancy and scaling to wireless LANs for the first time. NonStop Wireless technology allows for non-stop operation, in-service upgrades, and hitless failover while dramatically simplifying redundancy configuration. Trapeze Network’s NonStop Wireless totally eliminates capital equipment and ongoing IT operational costs associated with building, maintaining, and growing high-availability resilient wireless LANs.

“Mark your calendars because today is the beginning of a new era in wireless networking,” said Jim Vogt, President and CEO of Trapeze Networks. “Trapeze Networks invented NonStop Wireless to meet the needs of the always on enterprise. As of today, an enterprise can confidently enjoy the freedom of wireless voice and data connectivity because Trapeze Networks has made the wireless network more reliable than it’s ever been before.”
