UC has come of age say ntl:Telewest

According to Marcus Hill, Head of SI Channel at ntl:Telewest, unified communications (UC) came of age in 2009.

“While the benefits of UC have been well documented, a hosted model is particularly appealing as businesses can move from a CAPEX to an OPEX model, reducing the need for any hefty upfront investment. Giving businesses an opportunity to access services on a monthly or ‘pay as you go’ basis – and ultimately cut their fixed costs - is very attractive in this economic climate."

"Without a doubt, we expect the demand for UC to grow even further in 2010. According to IDG Research, 79 per cent of UK and EMEA enterprises want to adopt unified communications, believing that it will help them gain business advantage. However, so far, only 23 per cent have bought what they need because they haven’t yet found the right solution for their business. This is a huge opportunity for vendors, service providers and resellers alike." added Mr Hill.
