UC is Revolutionising Work Practices say Plantronics

Recent research from Plantronics has shown that despite the recession, attitudes towards flexible working are still progressing as new technologies, such as Unified Communications, are coming into play revolutionising outdated and unprofitable working practices to make flexible working a reality.

The newly commissioned research by Plantronics highlights that despite the recession:

- 57% of UK office managers are still more likely to allow their employees to work flexibly

- 59% of UK office workers are still inclined to work from home or ask for flexible working hours

- 32% of employees feely inadequately equipped with the technology required to work from home

- 34% if managers don’t feel the technology is in place to support flexible working

- 69% of age group 55+ would be more inclined to ask for flexible hours compared to 16-25 year olds (Generation Y)

Plantronics is at the cutting edge of UC headset technology design, having just launched its new UC Savi Office technology - a premium convertible headset designed especially for office professionals requiring working collaboration across mixed audio, desk phone and PC devices. According to recent research UC technology is going to play a large part in the future investments of business and:

- By 2012 50% of all investments in large enterprise channels of communications will be part of a UC deployment

- By 2012 increased utilisation of video telepresence will divert $3.5 billion in annual revenue from the travel and hospitality industry
