UK ISP Puts Broadband Back in Business

Broadband no longer a ‘commodity sale’ now that resellers can maximise margins with new Eclipse Internet partner pricing for Superfast Fibre-Based Services

Business ISP Eclipse Internet has revised its entire channel approach for superfast fibre broadband (FTTC) products in a move that promises to significantly increase reseller margins on new business and migrations of existing connectivity contracts.

The news follows Eclipse’s announcement in June to offer improved channel focused pricing and this move confirms its commitment to its resellers.

“We are very confident about our new pricing,” commented Clodagh Murphy, Director of Eclipse Internet. “On comparable commercial terms alone we believe it makes Eclipse the best choice for resellers seeking maximum margins on superfast fibre broadband. Add our award-winning UK-based technical support with the real-time networking monitoring capabilities of Sentinel, and the total package is just unbeatable.”

The basic partner-only Eclipse package for superfast fibre broadband features 10Mbps upload and 40Mbps download speeds, with usage options for 50Gb, 100Gb and Truly Unlimited. Resellers using Eclipse Sentinel can monitor their installed fibre circuits in real-time, in the same way as standard ADSL circuits. Half-price install is available on all fibre-based products until the end of 2011, with free access to the Sentinel trial also extended until 31st October 2011.

“Superfast fibre broadband opportunities are really hotting up as more exchange areas get enabled, and more business customers come into reach,” said Mark Parsons, Director of Yeovil-based reseller MicronTalk. “Eclipse’s fibre pricing clearly puts it ahead of the competition, and its technical support takes all the risk out of switching customers over.”

Eclipse Sentinel is its own innovative DSL monitoring tool. The solution allows resellers to monitor all their Eclipse connections, down to individual exchanges and connections - meaning that they can instantly identify if a problem occurs. Developed in-house, Eclipse Sentinel also alerts users to potential line problems, giving resellers the power to identify problems themselves without having to ask Eclipse and therefore deliver vastly improved customer service to their end users. When a call does need to be made to the team at Eclipse, it promises reseller partners an answer within 60 seconds.

“For many resellers, broadband has become a tactical commodity sale with low margins, high risks and huge hassle,” said Henry West, Channel Manager at Eclipse Internet. “We are changing that. The inflection of FTTC is creating market opportunity and our pricing gives resellers a competitive edge that makes broadband something worth selling again. Moreover, our service and support excellence eliminates risk to a reseller’s brand and takes away the hassle and dread of dealing with ISPs.”
