Varlink, the York-based mobile computing and data capture hardware distributor is pleased to announce the launch of the Getac Z710 fully-integrated 7” rugged tablet

One of the world’s smallest, yet toughest tablets, the Z710 has an ultra-sensitive 7” touchscreen that responds effortlessly to every touch. The Z710 is the world’s only capacitive touch tablet which can be used in the field without operators needing to remove gloves, hence saving time and boosting productivity in sectors where field users typically wear gloves for protection in hazardous working environments. Built with Gorilla®Glass 2, the Z710 screen withstands knocks, falls and scratches.

The Getac Z710 tablet runs on Android 2.3 Operating System and offers an enhanced battery life of 10-hours, which means mobile workers have a tool that will keep working for as long as they do. With an IP65 certification, and a drop test of 6 feet, the Z710 is extremely durable and boasts rugged military grade MIL-STD-810G rating. Tested in a wide range of temperatures from -20OC to 50OC, the Getac Z710 tablet is able to operate without interruption under the toughest of conditions.

Peter Molyneux, President Getac Europe, commented: “The Z710 tablet brings users integrated functions which offer a significant increase in efficiency gains over earlier handhelds, business PDAs and tablets. With a built-in 1D/2D imager barcode reader, HF RFID reader and a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, the Z710 is able to capture a very wide range of data on the move”

Bill Gordon, Varlink Technology Director added: "With the release of the Getac Z710, we are providing an outstanding rugged, yet responsive, tablet. With high-sensitivity GPS for enhanced positioning accuracy and Wifi, Bluetooth and WWAN integrated as standard, we are delighted to be able to give our Systems Integrators improved functionality and additional options to deploy their field-based mobile applications on.”

This exciting new device is now available to order from Varlink, and loan units are available for demonstration purposes.
