Varlink Gets Rugged

Varlink is now supplying Janam’s XT1, a light and powerful Android-powered rugged mini-tablet.

The XT1 is not only the first rugged mini-tablet from Janam, but its first device to support an Android operating system.

It is imperative that mobile workers have access to information “anywhere, anytime” and has therefore propelled the continued growth in tablet adoption. Equipped with Bluetooth, 802.11a/b/g/n dual-band WLAN, optional 3G WWAN technology, high-sensitivity GPS and integrated RFID/NFC, the XT1 ensures high-quality and reliable data communication both inside and outside the four walls allowing mobile workers to access the information they need to make better informed decisions and improve operational efficiency.

With an IP54 rating and a drop spec of 1m, the XT1 excels in the most rigorous environments making it ideal to support demanding enterprise applications in field sales, field service, healthcare, hospitality and retail environments.

The XT1 also features an integrated 2D imager and 5 megapixel rear-facing autofocus camera with user-controllable LED flash and 1.2MP front-facing camera, enabling mobile workers to accurately capture data out in the field.
