VegaStream Introduces New Redundancy Features to Flagship Product

IP Gateway vendor VegaStream is to introduce ByPass ports onto its flagship product the Vega 400, introducing increased IP resilience and guaranteed connectivity to voice services whilst using the gateway.

Steve Davis, VP Sales at VegaStream explains, “With built in ByPass relays, the Vega-400 provides the alternate connectivity required to route calls if the power fails, or if necessary maintenance is needed. Whether that be to the PSTN / ISDN or to the PBX, the new feature of the Vega-400 ensures that a business can always be connected.”

VegaStream’s new ByPass relays provide simple connectivity for dual redundant E1 / T1 connectivity without the need for additional interfaces on the existing telecoms equipment. They also provide flexibility in scheduled installation and planned maintenance by being able to take the Vega completely off line, and yet have all calls continue to be handled by another Vega gateway, or have the Vega bypassed to avoid losing those vital calls.

Davis concludes, “The additional features in the Vega-400 will enable our reseller partners to provide the increased resilience that end-users require for their business communications, adding further value to the evolutionary VoIP opportunity.”
