Vesta and Jibe Mobile deliver integrated mobile payment app

Networks & Network Services
Vesta Corporation, provider of electronic payments, and Jibe Mobile, a real time communications platform provider, have announced the introduction of an enhanced mobile payments application designed for operators and handset manufacturers. Vesta and Jibe will showcase the application at Mobile World Congress 2011.

Vesta will use Jibe’s App to App Platform to enable payments through a user’s handset for a variety of consumer goods and services. In addition to prepaid account top up and bill payment functionality, the offering incorporates Vesta-powered digital content and application purchases.

Utilising Jibe platform’s Rich Communication Suite (RCS) specification, the application will also enable peer-to-peer ‘gifted’ purchases between subscribers. As with all of Vesta’s payment solutions, the application is 100% PCI compliant and fully indemnifies the operator against fraud losses.

The Jibe App to App Platform enables operators and developers to create richer mobile applications that allow consumers to enjoy an open and seamless communications experience. Jibe’s ability to use next generation networks while maintaining compatibility with legacy and low tier devices, reduces the time to market for developers launching innovative third party applications.

“The proliferation of applications and digital content provides an opportunity for mobile operators to create additional value from existing customers,” said Amir Sarhangi, chief executive officer, Jibe Mobile. “Our collaboration with Vesta delivers rich, integrated payment functionality in an operator-branded environment, securing the operator’s position in the content delivery chain.”

“Vesta’s payment solutions are a perfect complement to the Jibe App to App Platform,” said Doug Fieldhouse, chief executive officer, Vesta Corporation. “By delivering seamlessly integrated, secure payments through the handset, Vesta provides a robust foundation for developers.”
