VMware and Griffin Internet host technology workshop

Following on from successful collaborations earlier in the year with BT and Microsoft, Griffin’s technology workshop at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire introduced their strategic partner and the global leader in virtualisation VMware to an invited audience of voice and data resellers. VMware’s Graham Crich talked about the principles of cloud computing and then went on to explore the value of this technology from the point of view of the reseller.

Whilst it is generally accepted that over time many desktop applications will move into the cloud, the point was made that until now one of the inhibitors to this evolution has been the absence of consistently reliable, fast, secure and inexpensive connectivity. Griffin’s CTO, Adrian Sunderland explained the success of Griffin’s products in filling this gap and showed how resellers can earn very good margins by using some of Griffin’s unique features to differentiate themselves. Finally Andrew Dickinson, Griffin’s Sales & Marketing Director ran a session on how to identify the easiest opportunities to win and talked through Griffin’s capability in supporting Partners throughout the sales cycle.

John Dawson, Managing Director, Griffin Internet said, “It was wonderful to see so many new faces in the audience. We see a real opportunity for Partners to get into Cloud Computing. All of our Partners get to use our hosted corporate email and hosted online back-up free of charge and we hope this will better prepare them and their sales teams to sell these white label products when they are in full release. The feedback we received from prospects and Partners alike was encouraging with the event receiving a 94% approval rating.”
