Warm Welcome For Ericsson’s EMS

Resellers have given an enthusiastic welcome to Ericsson’s EMS platform at an exclusive preview event hosted by the company’s largest UK distributor Nimans.

Dealers converged at Ericsson’s Coventry headquarters to see the Enterprise Multimedia Server in action for the first time and learn of its many impressive end user benefits. The innovative platform provides a single point of contact for voice, e-mail, fax, SMS, call recording and instant messaging, as part of a complete mobility offering.

Key Ericsson and Nimans personnel were on hand to highlight the many benefits of EMS as the audience also learned how Nimans’ impressive service offering continues to evolve.

“Nimans is adopting a next generation service strategy, tailor making solutions for our customers as the market develops,” says Chris Birchall, Nimans’ Ericsson Business Manager. “For example, systems are now becoming much more application and licence driven, based on mobility and increased data compatibility. We are now operating in more than just a traditional voice environment and it’s imperative that we lead from the front in supporting our business partners.”

In terms of EMS, he confirmed: “It is clear EMS will have a significant impact on the market. The system has been designed for 40-500 users and utilises native SIP technology so that it can seamlessly connect to other manufacturers’ applications. The system highlights the strength of Ericsson within the telecoms market, converging fixed and mobile telephony whilst also demonstrating the tremendous user-friendly and cost effective benefits that SIP generates.”

Chris added that Nimans now plays a key role in Ericsson’s product testing programme, demonstrating its growing expertise in the SIP arena.

Feedback after the event paid tribute to EMS as a market leading proposition especially its mobility and presence management capabilities. Several resellers described the architecture of the system as “very clever” and said EMS provides a very interesting business proposition, allowing them to approach clients from a different perspective, based on mobility rather than a fixed desk.
