Westcon Enhance Siemens On-Boarding

Siemens has launched a new reseller On Boarding scheme for channel partners that is designed to lower the cost of accreditation as well as provide all the tools a reseller needs to begin selling including a demonstration kit.

Channel Sales Director Leon Mangan has told Comms Business Magazine, “The new scheme is available to all of our distributors, Westcon, Sphinx and Rocom/Nimans. For a cost of £3000 resellers will get a complete ‘starter kit’ including training and a fully functional 10 user demonstration kit with Outlook Plug-in and attendant console. Over the course of the next six months following the training the reseller will be eligible for a 10% rebate on purchases of Hi-Path 3000. If the reseller sells £30k he gets his investment back but if they sell say £100k then they make an extra £7k margin.”

Distributor Westcon is taking the scheme a step or two further. Head of Siemens Sales Robert Moss commented, “We have a four step approach to Siemens On Boarding; registration to become a Siemens SMB Partner, being Ready to Sell, being Ready to Install and Maintain and recovery of On Boarding Costs.

Where we differ from the Siemens scheme is in the fact that there is no cost to the reseller for the first six months. The reseller sends Westcon a purchase order for £3000 to cover the On Boarding process but we hold that order for six months and rebate the reseller back 10% of their sales during that period.”

At the end of the On Boarding process resellers are qualified to Siemens Select Partner Status.
