Westcon Wins Avaya Distie of the Year

Avaya has announced a continued focus and commitment both to the EMEA region and to its channel partner model as it welcomed more than 200 Avaya Connect channel partners from across EMEA to its Annual Business Partner Executive Summit in Berlin.

As Avaya kicked off its financial year 2012 it took some time to celebrate the company’s EMEA performance during 2011 and to recognise the key role its channel partners played in its success.

As Avaya honoured its top performers and reviewed strong business performance over the past year, Jan Lawford, Senior Director, EMEA Channels, laid out the company’s focus for the EMEA region in FY12. This included reaffirmation of the company’s commitment to a customer-centric partner-enabled business model and a focus on its top customers across the region. In addition, the company is aiming to drive the innovation that supports Avaya’s key growth sectors including financial services, hospitality, government, healthcare, manufacturing and outsourcing.

Speaking at the event, Lawford underlined how the company’s services business is vital to the continued success of both Avaya and its customers across EMEA. The growth in requirements for both professional and managed services coupled with Avaya’s support services business delivered both directly by Avaya and by its strong ecosystem of channel partners, reinforces the value of this significant portion of the company’s offering.

Best Distributor: Westcon Convergence

Services Excellence: Asteros

Best Breakthrough: Dimension Data

SME Achievement: Lantel Bedrijfstelecommunicatie BV

The Most Notable Customer Win award was awarded to two partners: KPN and Andra Sp z o.o.
