Xactware Launches Mobile Estimating App for the U.K.

U.K. surveyors, adjusters, and contractors can now dimension and estimate property losses on the iPhone and iPad using Xactware's mobile estimating app, XactScope.

This powerful new estimating tool enables property insurance, construction, refurbishment, and restoration professionals to draw floor plans, apply local building rates to structural estimates, and create professional-looking reports on their mobile devices. XactScope is free to download and works in conjunction with Xactware’s Xactimate desktop estimating system.

"This is a major step forward in technology for the property market," said Vernon Davenport, Xactware’s director of European operations. "Now there’s no need to jot down loss details on a pad of paper and then transcribe those notes back at the office. With XactScope, surveyors can use their mobile devices to draw floor plans and estimate damage on the spot."

With the touch screen on their iPhone or iPad, surveyors can sketch rooms, walls, roofs, and other common structures. They can also resize rooms or add missing walls, doors, windows, fences, decks, and other building features. Information captured on XactScope — such as estimates, sketches, price lists, photos, and loss-site documentation — can sync with Xactimate remotely via cloud technology.
