Data Integration, an Xchanging company, to re-architect network for mobile operator

One of the largest global mobile operators has awarded Xchanging (LSE: XCH), the business process and technology services provider and integrator, a contract to re-architect their core customer network. The contract was won by Xchanging’s network and systems integration company, Data Integration, the incumbent network integrator. The contract includes network infrastructure and professional services to design, build, configure, test and install the solution.

Data Integration will logically and physically redesign and simplify the operational complexity of the existing network. The re-architected network will offer a long-term platform enabling higher performance as well as creating a new logical design that meets current requirements for resiliency, while ensuring a much simplified network. Decommissioning the existing network will reduce support costs and new virtualised hardware will ensure capacity for on-going expansion.

The project, which runs throughout 2012, will include staging and testing in the customer’s UK data centres as well as their test environment.

Julian Cole, Account Director at Xchanging commented, “We have a strong history in designing, building and integrating projects for our customer and we’re delighted to be selected. This significant upgrade will simplify the network but most importantly it will provide a platform to meet the growing data demand now, and in the future”.
