Yealink’s T38G In Award Frame Again

Yealink’s SIP-T38G Gigabit colour screen IP handset has been shortlisted for the Internet Telephony Services Providers’ Association’s (ITSPA) Best VoIP Customer Premises Equipment award.

The gigabit colour screen handset is among four contenders for the award, the winner of which will be announced at a special presentation at the House of Commons Members Dining Room next Wednesday March 21st. The ceremony will be hosted by Dr Julian Huppert MP, Vice Chair of the Parliamentary Internet Communications and Technology Forum.

It is the fourth year the awards have been organised by ITSPA, a trade association which represents UK-based network operators, service providers and other businesses involved with the supply of VoIP services.

“It’s a great honour to be invited to the House of Commons as a finalist in these awards and for our product to be recognised by such respected peers within our industry,” commented Yealink UK’s managing director, Andrew Roberts. “We’re rightly proud of the T38G which we certainly believe to be a best-in-class handset, a view which appears to be shared by many resellers and specifiers not just in the UK but across Europe and the Middle East.”

News of the shortlisting comes hot on the heels of the SIP-T38G being named as Product of the Year by the specialist international magazine, Internet Telephony.

The model was launched last year to help end users exploit the growing prevalence of gigabit networks as corporate organisations seek to exploit collaborative technologies. The gigabit capacity of the T38G means it can support speeds 100 times faster than regular Ethernet and ten times that of Fast Ethernet, whilst a built-in GigE switch effectively doubles broadband capacity. This enables simultaneous data and voice transmission and support of Quality of Service features. Specifications which have earned acclaim include a Texas Instruments Aries chipset and voice engine, a 4.3” 16.7 million colour TFT-LCD display and high definition standards running across voice, codec, speaker and handset.
