Zen Internet to Unveil Major Network Investment at Convergence Summit South

Zen Internet will officially announce a multi-million pound investment in its next generation network at Convergence Summit South this week (September 27-28).

Zen currently has more than 270 Points of Presence (PoPs) in BT exchanges, a figure that will rise to more than 400 by January 2017. The company will add 20 PoPs in London alone, bringing its presence in the capital to 60.

The major investment programme will significantly extend Zen’s reach from 408,000 to 537,000 postcodes, covering nearly every corner of the UK.

Zen’s Technical Director Jon Bauer said: “We have designed Zen’s next generation network to help us provide the best service in the industry and position Zen as a real alternative to larger carriers, which don’t offer the same level of service, support and care to customers. This investment will further bolster our Wholesale, Channel and voice-based ambitions.

As a carrier-grade provider our customers can run their critical connectivity on a network that has been tested and engineered to meet ‘five nines’ high availability standards, with fast, automated fault detection and recovery that can be achieved in milliseconds.”

Stephen Warburton, Managing Director, Zen Channel Partners, said: “The reliability and scalability of our network are critical for our partners in the Channel. Our new, improved network will deliver even more value-added services and bring us even closer to customers.”

Zen will be on Stand 19 at Convergence Summit South where it will showcase its wide portfolio of products and services for Channel and Wholesale partners. Visitors to Stand 19 will also be able to take part in Zen’s Fruit Ninja VR challenge, with the most successful slicers taking away one of two Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets.
