Zyxel Communications has today announced the launch of its major global rebrand along with the appointment of industry veteran Peter Hannah as its new Head of UK Channel.
With a solid reputation for developing innovative networking products for nearly 30 years, the rebrand to “Your Networking Ally” represents a shift from hardware manufacturer to solution provider, developing more end-to-end solutions for consumers, businesses and service providers.
“Becoming a solution provider is an extremely exciting transition for Zyxel,” said Lee Marsden, President of Europe, Zyxel. “Gartner research predicts there will be nearly 21 billion connected devices in the hands of users by 2020, yet many of today’s opportunities remain trapped behind slow, insecure and even non-existent network access.

In line with the new brand identity, Peter Hannah has been appointed to drive growth in Zyxel’s business solutions and strengthen relationships with key channel partners. As part of this, Zyxel is revamping its partner programme to reflect the move from product provider to a provider of business solutions.
Fresh from leading Netgear’s commercial business unit operations for three years, Peter brings with him over 20 years’ experience in networking, security, wireless, unified communications and telecoms having worked across multiple industry sectors. Prior to Netgear, Peter held positions at AVNET and BT where he was responsible for developing partner relationships through resellers across the UK and Europe for ICT services.
“We wanted to bring in someone with experience and a successful track record to head up our channel team as we come to a pivotal point in our business evolution,” said Marsden. “Peter truly understands what it takes to migrate from a hardware supplier to a solution provider and we’re delighted to have him lead this exciting new chapter for Zyxel.
