Over 15 enthusiastic walkers from Nessco participated in the walking event which raised over £1750 in sponsorship money for the national diabetes charity.
Alison Souter, from Nessco’s Marketing Department commented, “We were delighted with the turn out on the day especially with it being a Sunday and terrible weather! The money raised by the team this year was a fantastic amount and will be greatly appreciated by JDRF to put towards extensive research for such a worthwhile cause”.
JDRF funds go towards research into the causes, prevention, treatment and cure of type 1 diabetes and its serious and debilitating complications.
They are the largest voluntary health organization in the world, raising more money to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications than any other voluntary health agency worldwide. To date they have provided more than £600 million to research internationally and they are proud to say that they have funded every major breakthrough in type 1 diabetes research in the past three decades.
