Global Radio will use THUS’s next-generation network to carry live audio broadcast traffic of their popular radio brands, Heart, Galaxy, LBC and The Arrow. In addition to the Gold class of service offered for real-time broadcast, the network will also carry voice and data traffic, delivering a truly converged network solution.
The combined network solution from THUS seamlessly runs broadcast production traffic over its MPLS IP delivering the functionality, reliability and resilience crucial to an organisation broadcasting every minute of every day, as well as providing the scalability necessary to meet the needs of this dynamic and growing media organisation.
Bruce Davidson, Technical Director at Global Radio said: “We chose to further develop the relationship with THUS as it offered us a solution tailored exactly to our needs. Its broadcast quality next-generation network and increased resilience gives us the guarantee of network availability and minimal network downtime that a broadcaster relies on. THUS also provided a highly cost-effective solution without compromising on quality of service.”
Phil Male, Chief Operating Officer at THUS plc said: “This contract expansion is yet another example of THUS’ pre-eminent position as network of choice for commercial broadcasters in the UK. Our understanding of the needs of this sector, gained through our consultative approach, gives us a real insight into this sector and our client’s future business needs. As a result we provide what our customers need now, and a communication solution that has the flexibility and scalability to grow with their business in the future.”
In addition to the quality of the network solution, the renewal and expansion of Global Radio’s contract with THUS owes much to the benefits of a cohesive internal resource managing the client relationship. The end-to-end Managed Solutions ‘wrap‘ evolves with the customer’s needs and ensures the client enjoys a high level of personal and technical service support.
