Fantasy Football - Week 6

Networks & Network Services
With England on international duty tonight against the Ruskies there's no premiership matches this week, so we take a look at what mid-fielders are in form at the moment for those of you looking to transfer.

Frank Lampard: Chelsea

Lampard has consistently been 'the' fantasy midfielder to have, but he was overshadowed by the form of Cristiano Ronaldo last season. This season many Fantasy Managers chose Ronaldo over Lampard, but with Ronaldo's suspension and United's stuttering start to the season, Lampard has become a popular transfer target.

Last season Lampard still scored 11 goals and made 12 assists, and he looks in good form now, scoring goals for both club and country. At 11.4 and rising, he is still cheaper than Ronaldo at 11.9, so the only dilemma is whether to sell the consistent Lampard for Ronaldo, once he returns from suspension for Gameweek 6, especially if you can't afford to buy back Ronaldo without sacrificing more than one player.

Francesc Fabregas: Arsenal

Fabregas isn't known for his goalscoring, with just 2 goals last season, but add to that 14 assists and 54 bonus points and
you will see why he is a great fantasy player. This season he has already collected 1 goal, 1 assist and 6 bonus points from 3 games, and he has also scored twice in Champions League qualification, so maybe he is a goalscorer after all!

Fabregas costs 9.7, which may seem expensive, but with the points return he gives you, especially his bonus potential, it's a steal.

Elano Blumer: Manchester City

European football fans will know the name of Elano from his days at Shakhtar, where he scored 14 goals in 2 seasons. The Brazilian midfielder has already settled into life at his new club with 3 assists, and no doubt he will be finding the back of the net before long.

At 8.1, Elano has the potential to be a bargain signing, especially if you are looking to replace a more expensive player like Lampard or Gerrard, saving you money to spend elsewhere.

Steed Malbranque: Tottenham

Malbranque may not have made a huge impact in his first season at Tottenham, scoring 2 goals and making 4 assists, but this season he has already got 2 goals to his name. He has played 90 minutes in all 4 games so far and may yet become the fan favourite he was at Fulham, especially after his performance against Derby which earned him 3 bonus points.
