Hutchinson leaves Virgin Mobile

Virgin Mobile’s long-serving sales and marketing director Graeme Hutchinson has quit the company after seven years.
Hutchinson, who has most recently been working as trading director with ntl:Telewest to develop trading strategy and distribution of products, left at the end of September and will work out three months’ gardening leave if he chooses to rejoin the industry.
Head of channel management Paul Williams covers his role as director of retail, responsible for Virgin Mobile’s retail expansion. Rob Shardlow becomes director of sales and distribution, taking responsibility for independent channels, equipment marketing and procurement, and logistics.
Virgin Mobile MD Alan Gow said: “Over the past few months, Graeme Hutchinson has been working closely with ntl:Telewest to help shape our trading strategy and to agree the direction of the distribution of group products. That future direction has now been established.”
Said Hutchinson: “Having completed this [job] I have decided, on reflection, that moving into this role on an ongoing basis is not right for me personally.”
