The new O2 Ice...

is a chic 3G handset aimed at a fashionista market but provided with a good deal of functionality and offered at below £80 on some of O2’s tariffs (from £99 on pre-pay).
The goodies include MP3 player, 32MB memory and microSD card slot, 3G video calling and a 1.3mp camera. There’s WAP access to O2 Active 3G too.
The O2 Ice is the first handset in Europe to be based on Qualcomm’s uiOne user interface solution. “[O2] is putting its demonstrated thought leadership into action and making operator customised UIs a reality,” said Herbert Vanhove, VP of Qualcomm Internet Services Europe.
“With uiOne, we are taking personalisation of device UIs to the next level,” opined Ian Clarke, head of devices for O2 UK. “The uiOne-enabled O2 Ice handset offers O2 customers a stylish form factor, as well as an easy-to-use graphically rich UI, that greatly enhances their discovery and enjoyment of the many innovative mobile services.”
