IGB Group, the parent company of Unique Distribution, has announced that John McFarnon Chairman is to leave the company following the move to their new distribution complex.
John has utilised his many years of mobile telecoms industry experience to play a pivotal role in leading Unique Distribution from administration to developing the business into the award winning 2nd largest mobile distributor in the UK.
The success that Unique Distribution has accomplished over this time led parent company IGB Group to invest in a £12million state-of-the-art distribution complex in Hayes Middlesex which is due for completion in August this year. The new facility, which will house many of the company’s core functions, presents Unique Distribution with exciting opportunities for expansion
After careful consideration, John has decided that the daily commute to Hayes would not be conducive to his or his family’s best interests. He felt that now was the optimum time to make way for someone else to spearhead the further development of Unique’s future at its new location.
IGB Group MD Tamraz Riaz said “We would like to thank John for his hard work and dedication during his productive and successful time at Unique Distribution. Regrettably we understand his decision and wish him every success in his future. “
The role of Chief Executive will be taken up by Andy Tow.
Andy, who is highly experienced in the Mobile Telecoms industry, has extensive experience built up through his 22 years in the industry including 16 years at Vodafone, culminating in his most recent position as Managing Director of a leading independent service provider.
Upon hearing of his appointment Andy said “I am delighted to be involved at this pivotal moment in Unique Distribution’s future and relish the challenges ahead. I particularly look forward to working with the existing management team and to developing new opportunities for the business.”
Together with his extensive management experience, Andy’s knowledge of sales, marketing and distribution will help him drive Unique Distribution forward as they move into their expanded distribution facility in September.
