The Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Conversation for iPad application, now certified by Apple on iOS6, is available in the Apple App Store for anyone to download for use on an iPad. OpenTouch Conversation (OTC) supports mobility and the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) culture that enterprises recognise as an area of growth and provides employees a productive way to use their tablets at work.

Leveraging the Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Communications platform, OTC provides enterprise grade services with instant messaging, voice and video calls, and conferencing capabilities. The first version of OTC is delivered on the iPad and will shortly be available on other standard commercially available platforms.

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise customers who want to experience the conversation can download the application, view a demo here and contact an Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise reseller to ask for a provisional demo account. Updates to OTC will be made available through the App store with new and exciting functionalities as they become available.

Sheila McGee Smith, President, McGee-Smith Analytics said "Round one in the BYOD battle went to the iPad. As other platforms fight to catch up, tens of millions of corporate iPad users are looking to maximise the utility of their chosen device. The Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Conversation application addresses this requirement, providing users a way to enjoy and exploit the capabilities and ergonomics of their tablets while improving productivity.

"OpenTouch Conversation’s early iOS6 compatibility means users can take advantage of all the current capabilities of the iPad by simply accessing the Apple App Store."
