Apprentice scheme propels organic growth at Exponential-e

Exponential-e, the next generation network and business technology enabler has announced that its flagship apprentice scheme, called ‘The Academy’ has helped drive its considerable organic growth even in the face of the economic downturn

Exponential-e is now recruiting high-calibre apprentices for its fourth Academy scheme which will start in April. An integral aspect of Exponential-e’s growth plans, the Academy creates entry-level opportunities in the ICT/telecoms sector for highly-motivated, capable individuals looking to build sales careers in this competitive area. Exponential-e boasts a compound annual growth rate of 36% over the last three years.

Exponential-e launched its first Academy in 2008. Ten recruits began an intensive and dedicated 10 week programme designed to equip each trainee with the skills, knowledge and experience for a career in telecoms sales. Three intakes later, the apprentice scheme is now the lifeblood of the company with the alumni having generated sales revenues of well over £3m.

Robert Hicks, HR Director explains, ”We recruit ambitious, aspiring, industrious trainees from all walks of life, experience and backgrounds. No sales experience is required. The programme covers sales skills, meeting etiquette, team working and time management as well as technical product training”. He adds: “The intense investment we put into each of the trainees pays off in terms of cultivating engaged, loyal and hard-working employees. Over time they move into different areas of the business and take on increasing responsibility. Academy graduates now sit in channel sales, direct sales, account management and service management.”
