APR steps in to repair storm damage to telephone system

Networks & Network Services
The APR Group based in Wymondham, Norfolk, one of East Anglia’s leading telecommunications equipment suppliers and maintenance companies, stepped into the breach to reconnect a Norfolk company with the outside world.

Adventure Playgrounds Limited is a leading supplier of children’s playground equipment. From its site in Carlton Rode, Norfolk, it designs, builds and installs stimulating play areas across the UK, with clients including parish councils, schools, local authorities and housing developers.

Following a recent storm - which interrupted the electricity supply to the building - and the power surge that followed once the supply was restored, Adventure Playgrounds found themselves without telephone communications. Patricia Menaul from Adventure Playgrounds explained the circumstances, saying: “On reaching the office, I found that the telephone system had been damaged. Both incoming and outgoing calls were impossible – the company was cut off from the rest of the world. A telephone call to our telecommunications maintenance company revealed that it had gone out of business and BT was unable to help, which left us with a dilemma - no phones and no viable maintenance contract. After making enquiries, the APR Group was recommended to us, and we contacted them immediately.”

She continues: “APR’s engineer was with us within hours, and having tried everything possible to get the existing system working, finally advised us that the main processor was fatally damaged. We agreed that we needed a new system, and the engineer returned to fit a Samsung 7100; by that same evening, communications were restored. To me, that is an impressive service.”

The APR Group motto is “Keep people talking”, and this is exactly what they did for Adventure Playgrounds Limited. The company prides itself on its ethos of efficiency and customer service. APR never forgets that customers will only recommend them if they deserve it.
