Atos Worldline, an Atos Origin Company, has won the 2008 Innovation Award in the mobile & new technologies solutions section for its innovative paperless tickets solution delivered via mobile phone and developed for Air France KLM. The awards were organized by Orange Business Services and Syntec Informatique in partnership with French business daily La Tribune. This new mobile boarding passes solution offers Air France KLM an innovative alternative to hard tickets for its customers on the move.

Atos Worldline implemented a comprehensive project for Air France KLM, involving the design, development and operation of the mobile website and the messaging platform (SMS, mobile e-mail and MMS).

To access the service, passengers need simply to log onto Air France KLM Internet mobile websites, from which they have the possibility to check in, receive a boarding pass and access the full range of services via mobile phone. They can get real time information on their flights, flight schedules, Flying Blue account and more. The service gives travellers greater freedom thanks to 24/7 access and makes Air France KLM’s check-in management more flexible and responsive.

Didier Dhennin, Atos Worldline CEO, commented: “Winning this award is a recognition of the expertise of our teams in the research and development of leading edge solutions that support and advance our clients’ businesses. This innovative approach has enabled us to support Air France KLM’s commitment to continuous innovation.”

The service was launched by KLM on 4 September. The only paper document needed to board is personal ID. This new paper-free service will initially concern passengers travelling on the 15 daily flights connecting Paris-CDG (terminal 2F1) to Amsterdam-Schiphol, in both directions.
