AuPix Announces IP PBX with Video

AuPix has launched a new video enabled IP PBX system designed for smaller businesses and organisations.

“This is a great way for a business to add video to its current phone system, or to replace it entirely.” said Graham Brown, AuPix's managing director. “Prices from £1,995 for the entry-level VPBX-1220 represent outstanding value. Numerous smaller businesses could realise extra benefits for their teleworking employees, estimated to be 1 in 10.”

According to AuPix the new systems are compact and provide all the functions a business typically requires, in a single box (such as a dialplan, call hold, forwarding, transfer, conferencing), and also an interactive video response system, video mail, and queuing with video and audio prompts.

“The AuPix VPBXs do everything an IP telephony system can, with the added dimension of video” commented John Martin, AuPix’s technical director.

The option list for the VPBX range includes a continuous presence MCU for group video conferences, and a range of trunk option cards including SIP, analogue, and ISDN. A SIP to H.323 gateway option is available for connections to legacy video conferencing equipment.

The VPBX range is built on open standards. Its features make it easier to deploy voice and video over IP, which enables collaboration and team working amongst distant groups. Users are presented with an open choice of compatible SIP based VaVoIP (voice and video over IP) phones that may include AuPix’s own AP-100 video phone and AP-500 video kiosk.
