Avaya Appoints New Head of Global Services Organisation

Avaya has appointed Christopher Formant as president of Avaya Global Services. In this role, Formant will lead the company's global services business at a time when more companies are seeking advanced technology solutions for enhancing customer service and worker productivity in the most cost-efficient manner.

Formant joins Avaya from BearingPoint, a global management consulting and technology services company, where he was executive vice president and an executive committee member overseeing the firm's global financial services practice. In this position, Formant assisted companies in solving large-scale business issues through a variety of industry focused management consulting and technology services solutions.

While at BearingPoint, Formant was named one of the top 25 consultants in the world by Consulting Magazine. The magazine cited "Formant's leadership, restructuring skills, eye for talent and tenacity" in awarding this recognition.

Prior to Bearing Point, Formant served in multiple leadership roles, including CEO of the technology consulting firm Scient, senior partner and global banking leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and executive vice president at MBNA.

"Avaya is one of the few companies in the world that has the products, services and ability to truly transform how business will be conducted in the future," said Formant. "The convergence of voice, video and data is the next advancement in communications, and Avaya is uniquely positioned to play a central role in helping companies capture future opportunities. Avaya Global Services will be the vehicle that delivers that reality to our clients."
