The apps have been developed in response to customer feedback and have been piloted by Azlan’s own Cisco field-sales teams in Europe. They are now being made available to all Cisco resellers throughout the 16 countries in which Azlan is present. They will enable resellers to access up-to-date stock information on all Cisco Small Business products, specific to their country or region.
Alex Warmerdam, Business Development Manager Cisco SMB EMEA for Azlan, stated: “The new Azlan Cisco apps for the Rim Blackberry and Apple IPhone will give Cisco resellers that work with Azlan a really competitive advantage in new business opportunities. Being able to identify the most suitable Cisco Small Business solution and check availability of stock on their smartphone will enable them to provide an immediate estimate of delivery to their customers, enhancing service levels and giving them a better chance of winning new business.”
The apps are entirely free for registered customers to download and use. The BlackBerry app can be downloaded via http://fonkmobile.azlan.com/download, where they will be able to log-in using their normal Tech Data InTouch account details. The Apple iphone app can be downloaded from the Apple App stores, where it can be located by using the search string ‘Azlan’.
During the pilot phase, the number of times Azlan sales staff logged-in and used the apps far exceeded expectations, Warmerdam reported. “We have been very pleased with the response. Our own team has found the apps extremely useful and we believe that resellers will benefit even more.”
Azlan is thought to the first distributor to make Cisco product availability data available on smartphone apps. Azlan is planning to make the service available for all Cisco solutions before the end of the year. It will also look to make further investments to extend the availability of the apps to other smartphone platforms and to add additional functionality to the existing software.
