Azzurri Strengthens Senior Management Team

Newbury based managed services provider Azzurri Communications has announced it has appointed Gordon Matthew as chief executive officer (CEO) and Jim McKenna as chairman. Martin St Quinton, the founder of Azzurri Communications, will focus his attention on potential mergers and acquisitions, key customers and Azzurri’s business relationships in the City.

The new appointments are part of Azzurri Communications’ long-term growth strategy, with the aim of further accelerating the managed services company to the forefront of the converged communications industry. A key part of this strategy is Azzurri’s Transforming Communications proposition, which acknowledges the influential role ICT plays in today’s leading enterprises, and how ICT services and solutions are procured, managed and delivered.

Gordon Matthew, CEO, who joins from RedSky IT with over 25 years experience in the industry, explains: “ICT is increasingly regarded as instrumental in facilitating innovation, efficiency, and contributing to bottom line profit. It is also an enabler of rapid-response business models, favoured by the most successful of companies. As a result it is critical that we evolve our own IT service portfolio to deliver managed ICT services that support the frequent transformation of these businesses, and provide the agility and innovation required for a dynamic corporate environment.”

“With multiple acquisitions and organic growth, Azzurri has developed into a strong independent company. I am looking forward to further developing its position as an industry leader and in supporting our customers’ evolving business strategies.”

Currently chief operating officer and an executive director of LogicaCMG, Jim McKenna brings a wealth of relevant industry experience to his role as Chairman. In his 14-year career at LogicaCMG he helped lead a significant transformation of the group from 3,000 employees in 1993 to 39,000 people today.
