Brightstar Selects SSE

SSE Enterprise Telecoms has announced it has been selected by Internet service provider, Brightstar, to deliver 100Mbps Ethernet connectivity in and around London, where the majority of its customers are located, as well as further afield.

SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ recent Project Edge network expansion meant that it was in an ideal position to meet Brightstar’s needs. In areas where its network does not reach, the third phase of Project Edge – Edge Plus, with its LIVEQUOTE tool – offers Brightstar an alternative. The LIVEQUOTE tool was not only used to find the most cost-effective, specification-compliant networks for Brightstar, but the SSE Enterprise Telecoms team also trained Brightstar to use the LIVEQUOTE with its own customers.

While the initial agreement was for four circuits, this was swiftly extended to more than 20 in a three-year contract.

“We needed a network that was dependable and a team who were experienced in delivering networks without hiccups,” said Mark Barber, Managing Director at Brightstar. “SSE Enterprise Telecoms is renowned for its reliable connectivity and with a skilful team offering one of the simplest on-boarding procedures in the market; it was a clear choice for us. With SSE Enterprise Telecoms, we got what we ordered, we got it on time and the team was able to be flexible as and when we required additional connectivity services.”

“We’re thrilled that Project Edge has made our dependable network a viable choice for Brightstar,” said Colin Sempill, Managing Director, SSE Enterprise Telecoms. “Its sheer reach, combined with the integration capabilities and LIVEQUOTE pricing tool, means that Brightstar can be responsive and agile to its customers’ network demands, which is particularly important to those companies working in seasonal industries with unpredictable demand. We’re looking forward to a long relationship as Brightstar’s network provider of choice.”
