Broadsoft Goes Mobile

BroadSoft, a provider of VoIP application software has announced at their BroadSoft Connections 2006 Executive Users Conference its new mobile application that integrates control of enterprise VoIP features with smartphones, standard mobile handsets and IP deskphones.

The BroadWorks Assistant - Mobile application is a lightweight mobile application for users of Nokia Eseries handsets. Assistant - Mobile will be available in early November.

For service providers, BroadWorks Assistant - Mobile provides an offering differentiated against competitive PBX offerings, thus increasing enterprise user retention while extending the service provider footprint from the office to mobile handsets. Assistant - Mobile gives carriers the ability to sell value added or premium services within the same BroadWorks application framework with a reduced need for support compared to standard mobile applications.

The BroadWorks Assistant - Mobile integrates with the BroadWorks VoIP platform. Assistant - Mobile allows SMB and enterprise mobile users to quickly set VoIP feature preferences from the handset, including simultaneous ring, call forward all, call forward no answer, do not disturb and remote office.

Additionally the applications can place calls from mobile handsets, yet appear as though the call originates from the office, access corporate and personal directories, view call logs, including calls missed when the handset is off, receive enterprise voicemail notifications on mobile phones and create international profiles.

"With BroadWorks Assistant - Mobile, service providers get an FMC application that complements their other BroadSoft offerings, such as Hosted PBX and Business Trunking," said David Bukovsky, vice president of products for BroadSoft. "For wireless service providers, Assistant - Mobile enhances their BroadWorks Mobile PBX offering by giving enterprise users the ability to manage their VoIP features, view call logs and access directories from their handsets. With the Nokia Eseries integration, this new solution addresses a real telecommunications need identified by enterprises."

BroadWorks Assistant - Mobile supports the Symbian-based S60 software platform and the following Nokia mobile devices: E50, E60, E61, E62 and E70. BroadSoft is a member of Forum Nokia PRO and the Forum Nokia PRO Enterprise Zone.
