Burt Back in Channel

Adrian Burt, former VP for Sales & Marketing at CTI Group, has resurfaced in a new channel role.

“It was a delight to have worked with CTI for so many years and to help them drive their development to become a highly reputable brand in the sector. The decision to leave was by no means easy, and to this day I remain as passionate about voice and data management and business intelligence as I did when I joined the industry in 1997. Nonetheless, it was without doubt time for me to move on, spread my wings and gain from new experiences.

In terms of what’s next, I joined a company called Sentinel Products at the start of October, as Managing Director, based in Horsham. Sentinel specialises in delivering network management and control solutions to the educational sector. The company fits right into my roots, delivering management and control software through the channel. The challenges too are familiar - providing fresh and invigorating marketing programmes, extending the product portfolio, taking the company international and providing a vision and structure to a team of highly committed experts. At the same time, we are looking outside of the scope of the company’s typical channel partner, to find new partners in the converged arena, servicing both the educational sector and potentially the SME corporate space.

As for communications management, well, after 9 or so years it’s hard to completely let go, and I still have many ideas for its evolution.

In that respect, I am delighted to have joined forces with Tiger Communications Plc, as a Non-Executive Director. I’ve known Tiger for many years and have respected them as fierce competitors in the communications management field. In many ways, they are probably the channels best kept secret; with longstanding relationships with manufacturers like Cisco, Siemens and Avaya, and revenues already well over £4m. This must place them at the top of the rankings in the sector and now that I’ve seen their products and channel proposition first hand, I can see exactly why.

As well as providing general business input, I’m enthused to help Tiger build its brand in the wider voice and data channel, as well as providing fresh impetus into their reseller support and new product developments. They have a great pedigree in innovation, especially targeted at the mid-large business sector and hospitality arena.”

Commenting on Adrian’s appointment, Tiger Communications Director Stephen McCallum comments, “We’ve known Adrian for many years and have admired his work in the channel and his drive and contagious enthusiasm for communications management. His expertise in channel development, sales and marketing and international business experience, will add tremendous value to Tiger’s continued growth, both in the UK and abroad.”
