Call Navigator Goes IP

Reality Telecom has launched an IP-enabled version of its Call Navigator IP, a phone service for businesses which is centrally managed and maintained by Reality Telecom, yet controlled by the customer. Reality say Call Navigator IP offers sophisticated call handling features made simple. It works by allowing business customers to share telephony services and applications over a secure telecoms network – meaning that businesses have access to state of the art features that they would otherwise be unable to cost-justify.

No special equipment is needed in order to use the service, making it cheaper than a traditional phone service. It can work 24/7 as a standalone telephone service, removing the need for costly investment in a switchboard, or it can be used alongside an existing switchboard to offer supplementary functionality.

“IP telephony brings cost advantages and extra features for the user, but these are worthless, particularly in a business context, if the quality isn’t right,” said Simon Slater Thomas, CEO, Reality Telecom. “We are a telecom network operator and have years of telecoms experience, our move to IP-enable our existing product range was driven by market readiness; in particular the advent of high quality, highly available broadband, handsets and routers. IP telephony needs to have the same quality levels as other more traditional telephony options if it is to have a positive impact, and I believe that the time is now right to make the move.”

Available immediately, specifically designed for small to medium-sized businesses, Call Navigator IP ensures that no call is left unanswered and that callers never hear an engaged tone – whether the customer’s staff are out of the office or they are receiving more calls than can be taken in person. The range of additional features includes call handling options such as easy conference calling at a local call cost, without the need to pre-book and call recording as standard. It is particularly well suited to companies with multiple sites and/or remote or mobile workers.

The service is scalable and flexible and is managed by the customer entirely online, where up-to-the-day usage records are also available. Customers may keep their existing phone numbers or move to a new number according to preference.

Call Navigator IP offers different levels of function and price according to individual customer needs. Connection charges range from £100 to £1000, with a monthly fee depending on the features required.

Call Navigator IP will be sold through channel partners across the UK, and is already being used by companies such as Reuters, Abercrombie & Fitch, Kent International Airport, Webstars, Scothosts and Business Mailings.
