Call Recording Becoming a Commodity Product?

Phill McGowan, Managing Director at New Media believes that call recording has now become a commodity product.

“Most of the solutions on the market in the sub 120 channel market offer the same functionality. Customer now buy based on a mix of reseller recommendations and price. The good news for resellers is that there is now a buoyant market with lots of vendors vying for their business.

Call recording hardware has become readily available from numerous hardware manufacturers. The only difference between a bare bones recorder and a shrink wrapped product is the software needed to compress, encrypt, search and replay calls. The next logical step in the market is for vendors like New Media to unbundle and offer our software to resellers so that they can buy recording hardware at the best possible price and supply their own branded solution.”
