Cambridge Broadband Networks appoints Lionel Chmilewsky

Cambridge Broadband Networks Limited (CBNL) has today announced the appointment of Lionel Chmilewsky as Chief Executive Officer. His appointment marks the next phase of CBNL’s significant growth and expansion into new global markets.

Lionel Chmilewsky has more than 25 years’ experience in the technology sector and been part of the wireless industry since the early 1990s. Most recently, he was CEO of Comverse IP Communications and Senior Vice President of Comverse Inc. Before that, he was Executive Vice-President of Proxim Wireless. His background includes general management and senior sales roles at Alcatel, JDS Uniphase, EXFO and Fairchild in the US. Mr Chmilewsky is a French national and has a MBA from the Rouen Business School.

The company has recently been appointed the Vice Chair of the Backhaul Group of the Small Cell Forum, and its VectaStar platform has been deployed as a key backhaul element of a commercial small cell Wi-Fi network in central London, further proof of the company’s commitment to next generation networks.
