Trend Communications has added a Gigabit Ethernet tester, the Trend Unipro GbE, to the company’s wide range of hand-held telecommunications testers and local access diagnostic tools.
The Unipro, designed for field engineers, is easy to use, hand-held, battery powered, rugged and impact resistant.
Sales and Marketing Director Ken Foan commented at the launch, “Trend has an enviable international reputation for easy to use, rugged and reliable testers. As the technology progresses we introduce the products demanded by the market place. Gigabit Ethernet is a technology where well engineered test equipment is vital – the Unipro fulfils that requirement.”
Many Ethernet analysis facilities are incorporated in the Trend Unipro GbE allowing field engineers to carry out cable tests, verification of PoE (Power over Ethernet) and BERT (Bit Error Rate Testing). Traffic generation is also incorporated along with, filtering and analysis, IP ping and trace route.
The Trend Unipro GbE executes RFC 2544 tests and verifies connectivity, frame transportability and throughput. The instrument is very versatile, not only does it carry out standard tests but it also includes a range of sophisticated tests.
