Carter Returns to Nimans

Richard Carter has returned to Nimans as Business Development Director to re-commence his working relationship with Chairman and MD Julian Niman after a five-year absence.

Carter originally cut his teeth in telecoms distribution as part of a 20-year career with the Manchester-based company, but moved to Rocom in 2005 as New Business Development Director. He later became Managing Director but left his post following last year’s acquisition of Wetherby-based Rocom by Nimans.

“I am very excited by the great potential this new challenge brings,” said Richard. “The lure of helping drive forward the two biggest names in telecoms distribution proved too irresistible to ignore.”

Richard continued: “The telecoms industry is in my blood and it’s great to be back. My car almost drove itself to the office on the first day. Both companies represent a combined career investment of 25 years for me and I want to build on what’s been achieved so far. It’s been great to see some familiar faces and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”

His arrival has been warmly welcomed by Julian Niman who commented: “Finally after six months of planning the new management team is in place. We welcome an old friend and ex director Richard back to the company. Richard’s first task will be to build a new Communication Department to re-establish our reputation of excellence recognised by ourselves, suppliers and most importantly our customers. The key is to communicate to our staff and to our customers, past, present and future.”
