MobileOffice allows users to make and receive calls via the Channel Telecom VoIP platform using any Wi-Fi, 3G data or wired connection, bypassing traditional PSTN networks. As MobileOffice bypasses the user’s mobile network using Wi-Fi, on-net calls between users are free and other calls are cheaper than at normal mobile rates. International roaming charges can potentially be decimated by using this new Channel Telecom service.
The application can be used as a user’s primary phone device or a secondary device in addition to an hosted IP phone, or can even be ‘twinned’ with an IP or non-IP phone sitting behind a PBX. Installation is simplicity itself with over-air download from the Android Market app store, Apple App Store and so on.
As the name suggests MobileOffice allows the user’s smart phone, tablet or other terminal of choice to become their office phone extension providing key features such as abbreviated extension dialling, call hold, transfer, conference, speakerphone, mute and voicemail. MobileOffice also utilises the device’s functionality for application such as dial out from contacts director and call history.
