Cheshire Business Awards

Alderley Edge based Chess plc has been shortlisted for two of the Trinity Mirror Cheshire Business Awards – The Employer of the Year and Large Business of the Year awards.

Chess has had a lot of recent experience with business and industry awards. In the last 12 months it has made the shortlist for seven awards, ranked highly in lists such as Real Business magazine’s Hot 100 and has been awarded a Best Companies accreditation.

Fresh from its success in the regional finals of the National Business Awards, winning the Award for Business Improvement through People, Chess is excited about the Trinity Mirror Cheshire Business Awards.

Now in it’s third year, the Cheshire Business Awards is one of the most eagerly awaited events on the county’s business calendar. Drawing interest from a varied and diverse selection of Cheshire businesses, from small, family owned companies, to large corporations, the Awards aim to reward and recognise excellence, best practice and innovation throughout the Cheshire business community. In all of the awards categories, the judges were looking for evidence of these guiding principles.

Chess’ position on the shortlist for two of the awards demonstrates it clearly displays the innovation and overall business success the judges are looking for. Chess recently launched its Blueprint for Success, which is sets out its vision for the future and its strategy of growth, and this shone out in each of the awards entries.

“Our Blueprint for Success is at the core of every single business decision we make,” says Chess chief executive David Pollock. “It sets out the reason why we want to grow, our vision for the future and the importance we attach to our culture and values. To be shortlisted for two Cheshire Business Awards is a fantastic honour and testament to the success of our Blueprint. The Cheshire Business Awards is an important event in the local business community that Chess is proud to be a part of. There are some fantastic businesses in the county and we are delighted to be amongst them on the shortlists.”

In August, Chess played host to a film crew, who are producing a short film about the business, to be screened at the Awards ceremony on 29th September.
