Chess a Multiple Awards Finalist

Already shortlisted by Comms Business Magazine for two awards at the Comms Business Awards 2007 to be held in London on Jun 7th, rapidly growing Alderley Edge based telecoms company, Chess plc has also reached multiple shortlists in the regional finals of the National Business Awards for the second year running.

Following on from its success in 2006, where Chess won the Award for Business Improvement through People, Chess has been shortlisted to the final four for Employer of the Year and the Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. Chess was also singled out by the judges for special praise for its entry in Business of the year category, receiving Highly Commended status.

The National Business Awards programme is supported by forward-thinking organisations that aim to reward and recognise excellence, best practice and innovation throughout the UK business community. In all of the awards categories, the judges were looking for evidence of these guiding principles.

“We are delighted to be a part of the National Business Awards for a second year,” said Chess’ Chief Executive David Pollock. “This is an independent and valuable programme for UK businesses - it celebrates success and achievement and highlights where there is still room for improvement. The categories in which we have been shortlisted are particular areas our business is focusing on at the moment so it is testament to our commitment to them to reach the shortlist. And to receive highly commended status in Business of the year is something we can all be proud of.”

Chess will now move on to the next stage of the judging process in May, where it will present to the judges in advance of July’s glittering Awards ceremony at Manchester’s Palace Hotel.
