City of Westminster College keeps phone numbers thanks to Spitfire

Spitfire, the voice and data solution provider, has secured a contract to provide telecommunications services to the City of Westminster College at their temporary accommodation while the permanent college site is rebuilt as part of a £107 million project to rationalise and upgrade all of the College’s facilities

Spitfire’s number porting service, combined with the provision of ISDN 30e, has allowed the College to retain its existing phone numbers even though the College has relocated temporarily out of the North Paddington telephone exchange area.

As one of only 35 CPS (Carrier Pre-Selection) Operators in the UK Spitfire has full quality control over its network ensuring that calls are delivered with premium quality. The College will also benefit from Spitfire’s education sector discounted call charges.

Commenting on the contract win, Tom Fellowes, Sales Director for Spitfire said, “We are delighted to have been able to provide this solution for City of Westminster College. Although their temporary relocation site is only 200 yards from their main campus it is served by a different BT telephone exchange and would have required new BT telephone numbers. So the College can retain its existing numbers during the renovation, we have provided a number porting service over ISDN30e using a 2Mb fibre optic circuit for reliability and resilience.
