Cloud Managed Service Provider Selects Brocade Ethernet Fabric Technology

Oncore IT deploys Brocade VDX 6710 and 6720 Data Centre Switches in its London and Amsterdam data centres to guarantee network performance and offer pay-for-port capability.

In its predictions for the top ten trends CIOs need to plan for in 2012, Gartner describes the cloud “a disruptive force [which] has the potential for broad long-term impact in most industries.” London-based cloud managed service provider, Oncore IT, is a testament to this trend. In order to meet the demands of more than 100 customers, Oncore IT has turned to Brocade (Nasdaq: BRCD) for a data centre networking solution based on Brocade Ethernet fabrics and VCS Fabric technology. This new solution is designed to guarantee performance and service availability, while delivering a flexible “pay-per-port” pricing model for customers.

Paul Cook, Oncore IT’s head of sales and marketing, said, “While the market is still buzzing with interest around the cloud, to address the reservations people have about it, service providers must take total responsibility for their cloud solutions given customer expectations about high service levels. Data centre networking infrastructure is key to achieving this, and our investment in Brocade is all about making the necessary performance improvements using proven, best-of-breed equipment so as to stay ahead and deliver a truly exceptional cloud experience. We didn’t just want to improve performance, but instead go a step further and guarantee it, which is what we’ve done.”
