Convergence Group Continues to go from Strength to Strength

Convergence Group, the Midlands-based network systems integrator, thanks to business wins worth over £4 million is expanding its operations and team despite the current economic climate.

Four new clients from a range of industry sectors including building and manufacturing have joined Convergence Group’s expanding client base. This has resulted in six new members of staff being added to its team bringing its staff numbers to over 40, less than four years after the company was set up by Birmingham born Neal Harrison.

Four new members will be joining the technical and engineering team which will now mean customers will benefit from three new Service Desk Engineers as well as a Provisioning Engineer. Emma Sudworth enhances the team as the new HR Manager and Liz Miles has also be joined as a Design and Infrastructure Team Leader bringing over ten years’ experience in this field providing clients with strategic insight and advice on cost-effective solutions.

The company has continued to invest in its services and operation recently launching an innovative new network infrastructure, Inter-connect, offering customers access to a wide range of national and international supply chains comprising ‘Tier 1’ carriers. This follows on from the £750,000 investment in the recent opening of the company’s new high-tech Network Operations Centre (NOC), an impressive facility, designed to monitor, manage, identify and resolve any encountered network irregularity for its customers. The site is fully equipped with sophisticated network management, monitoring and analysis tools and provides a comprehensive view of all network traffic and activities around the world.

Harrison has grown the operation to a multi-million pound national and international data network provider with a total team of 46 including 17 dedicated technical support members, servicing 74 end user customers and 20 business partnerships. The company now supports customer locations throughout the world operating in seven different time zones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Harrison, commercial director, comments: “Despite the worsening economic climate in recent months, Convergence Group is bucking the national trend. This is very much down to the fact that we have proven very effective at saving our customers money. We are providing companies with cost saving solutions at a time when they need them the most. Improving and updating businesses network systems not only saves money for a company, it can also free up valuable resources, improving overall reliability and business performance.

Emma Sudworth, the newly appointed HR Manager, adds: “With nothing but recession doom and gloom in the business pages at the moment stating the West Midlands is the hardest hit region in the UK and countless reports of businesses going into liquidation it’s great to be announcing good news for a change.”
